When will Pre-K registration be held?
Our Pre-K registration will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008. Registration will be determined by a lottery drawing. Tickets will be passed out from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. The drawing will begin at 10:00 a.m. You must be present with your registration documents.
What do I need for registration?
You may come and pick up a registration packet on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. The packet will contain the registration form as well as a list of the documents needed for registration.
What are the hours of Pre-K?
8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
How much does it cost to register for Pre-K?
Pre-K providers do not charge a registration fee for the 6.5 hours instructional day.
Are there any fees associated with Pre-K?
Yes. There is a monthly food fee of $95 and must be set up on a direct debit from your checking account or automatic credit card billing unless the entire amount is paid in advance.
Can I bring lunch for my child?
Georgia’s Pre-K requires centers and schools to provide a complete nutritional meal for children. We request no food from outside be brought into the school. However, if your child has a specific dietary need, we will ensure it will be met.
What if I need child care after Pre-K is over at 2:30 p.m.? Can my child stay for after school?
We have an after school program for you. There is a $125 registration fee and the weekly cost is $90. Kids R Kids is open until 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
What are the requirements to enroll in Georgia’s Pre-K Program?
A child must be age-eligible (four years old on September 1) and a Georgia resident. Acceptable proof of age must be on file the day the child begins the Pre-K program.
What is considered acceptable proof of age?
Examples of acceptable proof of age include: Original/certified birth certificate, passport, green card, pink card, or Federal I-94 card. Hospital record of live birth Immunization forms and Medicaid cards are NOT acceptable documentation for proof of age.
Does my child have to have a social security card/number to attend?
Social security cards/numbers are not required to enroll in Georgia’s Pre-K.
Is there a specific waiver form I need since my child does not have a social security number?
If you do not wish to or cannot provide a social security number for your child, you may provide a written statement to the school stating that you do not wish to or cannot provide the information.
Can I pick up my child early a few days a week?
Georgia’s Pre-K program operates just like a school classroom. Parents commit to sending their child to school for the complete 6.5 hours day 180 days per year. Children can be disenrolled for being chronically tardy in the morning or being pick up prior to the end of the instructional day.
What is “excessive” in regards to the tardy policy?
Chronic tardiness is defined as late arrival or early departure more than once per week.
